As experts of The French National Natural History Museum (MNHN), our job consisted of studying the fundamental role of the endocrine system in the development and functioning of human physiology which is conserved throughout the evolution of species.

Starting the adventure!

In the early 2000s, we were approached by industry who anticipated that endocrine disruptors would become a major environmental and health issue in the coming years.

These companies asked us to take on a major challenge: to develop reliable, rapid and easy-to-use tests. With a strong constraint: to offer tests that are an alternative to the studies on laboratory animals, which were the only options available at the time.

This was a real constraint insofar as, the relevance of a test on the endocrine system lies in being carried out on an intact/whole organism, and primarily on vertebrates, to be as representative as possible with humans.

Development of the tests

It took many years to develop tests based on the 3 main endocrine axes : thyroid, estrogenic and androgenic.
Furthermore, our test protocols take advantage of whole organisms by revealing steroidogenic mechanisms

Establishment of Laboratoire Watchfrog

After this first stage of methodology development, in 2005 we created Laboratoire Watchfrog in order to industrialize testing processes and offer routine solutions for assessing endocrine activity of samples.

For all these years we have been committed to providing our clients with ethical, reliable and easy-to-interpret tests.
